- Staple: Staple yarn consists of a number of short strands of specific length.
- Filament: Filament yarn is a continuous strand of fiber.
Applications of broadwoven fabric

- Apparel: Rayon, nylon, polyester and olefin are the most common fibers used in broadwoven fabrics for garments – outerwear, innerwear, active-wear, and lingerie.
- Home furnishings: Broadwoven fabrics of rayon, polyester, polypropylene, acrylic, and nylon fibers are used in upholstery fabric, drapes, bedding accessories, dining accessories, carpets, rugs, and wall coverings.
- Industrial applications: Broadwoven fabrics are used in medical, geotextile, automotive, recreational, agricultural, and transportation industries. The fabrics are made out of a wide range of fibers such as:

Broadwoven fabric mills may also die and finish the fabric after weaving. Broadwoven fabric manufacturers are using latest technology and equipment to improve fabrics and sell them to a worldwide market.
